Cute little tortoise!
Petstores notoriously tell new owners that the animal they are selling is 1 year or younger.
Here is a great link that at the bottom of the page has a side-by-side pic of young tortoises: http://www.russiantortoise.net/hatchling_care.htm the one on the far right of the line-up is about 4 inches big, at 4 years old.
Keep in mind that your tortoise could be older - in the wild, food sources are scarce, and the tortoise spends more than half of the year hibernating/ brumating... so it could even be older than 4.
You are doing a great job building the new enclosure, by the way.

Maybe so, but I got told from the reptile shop he's 1. Here is a pic what do you think?
I can't wait to see it finished!! What did you use for the ramp? have you let your tort try to walk up it yet? is it slippery??? I like the bubbly look of it but if your tort can't get up it then.....that's my only thought outside of how exciting to be building your new tort table!!! yay!!!
Hahaha! I haven't let it walk up it yet because I still need to put everything inside. I'm sure he will be able to walk up it as it is quite grippy. The ramp is made of wood but I've cut a bath mat to size and clued it to the wood. I can't wait for him to try his new home. Here is a pic of the barrier I made for his ramp today.
Also this is what it use to look like, my old wardrobe
That is a cute little tortoise. As Biochemnerd said, pet stores notoriously tell people their tortoises and turtles are a year or younger. Some people get a fully grown tortoise and they are told it is a few months old. I never listen to what pet stores say anymore.
