I was doing some fence work at the compound. Scraped some leaves away and found this guy hibernating. I put him in the greenhouse. Cool little guy. Ground Skink Scincella lateralis, I believe this is to be his species.

So cute. What happens to lil guys that had their hibernation disturbed?

Well I put him in the Greenhouse to eat gnats, and flies. I havent seen him. They are very uncommon to see. They tend to hang out under leaves, or anything. I figured I woke him up so I didnt want to jeopardize his life by setting him back down. I gave him warmth, bugs, and lottttts of plants.

Lol! I admit, when I saw the pictures my first thought was, I'm surprised he didn't crush him!

Im like an Aldabra tortoise. Gentle giant. LOL This guy was actually around 6" long but still very slender and frail. I was careful.

I saw this guy this guy last weekend in the Greenhouse. He is doing well in his new tortoise friendly home.
