Closer view of newer tort. Male?

I think you guys are right. It is a male. He has a slight claw like curve and the end of his tail. Boy he's really spunky too. Comes right up when I talk to him. I didn't get him at the shelter. I got him from a lady who bought him at the spur of the moment for her 2yr old and of course she was bored of it 2 months later. So Great for me and "YODA".

Another question for you great torti lovers (and experts!!!), I've notice his back shell "ends" in the back are curving up, what is this from?

Yep, you've got a male there!

As for the curve of the shell, I think that just might be a natural thing, I have several that have that!

well you deff have a little man on your hands, but in some rare cases the shell could do that because of too much calcium.... but hes fine its nothing to worry about.
