Cage burns

So i bought this cage for a tortoise and im curious if this is a major problem and if i should be worried, i see these light burn marks as if the heat from the bulbs created light burns over time, would this be normal over time? Anything i could place like some sort of heat wrap or tape so it wont get worse?

Stop use immediately. What size outlet (amps) and what type /size of bulb are you using. Also what material is the wall made out of

No, that is not normal, and looks dangerous. You need to check out wattages of your bulbs, and the capacity of those outlets.

After you've checked that whatever is dangerous has been replaced, you could use a dome to direct the light and heat away from the wall. Be sure to get a 8-10" dome, not a 5".

Agree with Karen. After checking socket and bulb wattage to be sure compatible, if dome won't fit you can place tin foil on the wood to protect it and direct heat/light down.

I bought it used! So i dont know what the previous people were doing but i will indeed check the sockets maximum wattage. Also not for sure what material this is, its drilled onto the frame of the enclosure which is wood.

Id check out that “questionable” wiring that is exposed and running from socket to socket.
