Baby Sulcata Pyramiding

Hi everyone! We just got cute lil’ Kona a couple days ago from a breeder in Arizona. I know there is some pyramiding, but does anyone know how bad it is? Kona is around 1 year old and we want to try and minimize it as much as possible. The current enclosure is open top, but we will be covering it and adding a humidifier. Daily soaks will be provided as well. Thanks!

Your tortoise has been raised all wrong, but the situation will improve in the right conditions.

You need to get rid of the ramped water bowl ASAP. Those are great for snakes and lizards, but they are flipping/drowning hazards for tortoises.

I don't recommend covering the top of an open topped enclosure or using a humidifier. Neither tactic works very well. Here is what you need to do:
