We finally got a beautiful day without rain! So we spent it getting GusGus' enclosure up (hubbs did pretty much everything). We are waiting on seeds so that we can plant it, but he can't overnight in there anyway as we are due for more rain/flooding and the nights are still too cold. Still, at least it's up now and ready to go once the seeds arrive.
This is one of the 8'x4' outdoor dog kennels you can buy through Home Depot. GG is a full-grown adult Greek. We're currently using our natural soil.
The yard was completely overgrown after winter. This was good motivation to mow it.
Our groundbreaking was interrupted by a very aggressive hailstorm. These were taken almost 2 weeks apart.
Captain made sure dad was doing it right. He also helped trim down the chicken wire where needed.
We buried chicken wire below the kennel and zip-tied it to the bottom all the way around. I am aware they won't hold up forever, but we expect to move by next summer and the winters here start early, so I suspect they'll only need to last 3-4 months tops.
Ta-da! Not much to look at yet, but happy it's up and running. Can't wait to plant it!
