I have a sibling to yours also he hatched christmas and he is almost 500g at 14months my other one was 419 g at 18months when I got him and will be 3 in may and is 4lbs 11oz now. :) yay for happy torts :)

Hey guys its been forever since I posted last. both my torts are growing really good! this is sonne I got him in November of 2011 he was about 18 months old and weighed 419g. today he is about 4lbs10oz :D wich is awesome! so what do you think male or female? not that it matters I don't ever plan...

Looks good! Kraken is about 110g the last time i weighed him and is quite smooth also :)

LOL ya think? i kinda hope its a boy. how can you tell by the anal scutes? whats the diff? if its a girl that would be cool to but..not sure i wana deal with reproduction lol

i would say that is pretty small but it just depends..My 4 month old is 70 grams and almost 3 inches and a 23 month old who is about 8 inches and 900 grams.... like neal said its parents history would help but still i think its small.. what are you all feeding it? and are you soaking him? does...

ok pple kraken is almost 4 months old now!!:D he was about 2inches when i got him maybe a little shy from 2 inches..he was 38grams and ohhh sooo cute!!! here see... and he had to go out of state with me to visit my sick grandma just a few days after we got him...here are a few pic from the road...

I am leaving instructions for my mother inlaw to take care of one of my torts tomarrow till sunday...im trying to leave it pretty simple and not write a book...LOL in almost on page 2...crap.. soooo lets see what i can get from you guys befor i go to bed (weve got a couple hours i still have to...

i decided not to clean out krakens substrate and just leave it and watch it for the next cple weeks after we get back to town...i guess u guys are right there is no way they could really be mites...not to mention they seem more like the springtails in description.. so thanks every1 for the tips...

...i dont know if they are springtails... they were sooooo tiny like 5-10 would fit in---->(.) that little period...and the bigger ones didnt look quite like the pics they were more shiny..... i dont know ....im torn if i really clean out krakens tort table completly or just leave it...i dont...

ok so ive been researching pictures and reading a ton and what i have come up with is.. i have something(springtails i duno) AND mites... the springtails im sure came from the dirt i got from outside a few weeks ago and the little white bugs are def mites.... im sure from the moss i ordered...

i dont think its spring tails and look alot smaller than the pic of the mite shown above.....but again i could be wrong..they would not bother me if they wernt on my torts..that bugs me (:rolleyes:) so ive already cleaned out sonnes table and krakens is gna happen in a few mins.... they are on...

shes a cat and dog person...my tort kinds creeps her out but shes the only person i cld have come into my home and do this for me :) she is whilling to make sure his water dish is full and light goes on and off right and i am making all his food ahead of time, im gna bag it up for each day so...
