When i was younger i raised a lot of different types of reptiles and amphibians. Then in High School got into Reef Aquariums, did that for about 15 years total. So i understand the need for knowledge when caring for a pet. 5 years ago we went to Repticon (no intention of buying anything) and i love turtles (yes i know they're different). We talked to a breeder about Sulcata's and idk if he was just a salesman or what, but He made it out like all we really needed to do was give him a simple enclosure, feed him grass and don't give him anything out of our refrigerator, no veggies/fruits... said that will cause pyramiding. So we bought him, I got home and tried to research sulcata's and sadly I found very little info except what i was already being told. No where did i find anything about needing to keep it super humid and hot and soaking them. So he's now 5 years old and he's about the size of a box turtle. I'm afraid not getting the knowledge we needed may be why he's not the size he should be. We still love him
**any advice from this point on would be greatly appreciated. I built him a new home this weekend it's a "tortoise table" it's on wheels so i can roll him outside. approximatel 3.5' x 6'. I'm not finished that's why he's sitting on wood.
