Wild sulcata

This is a wild sulcata inside a reserve near Durban, South Africa.. My cousin sent me a picture of him! So cute!

I'm not 100% positive, but that looks like it MIGHT be a leopard.

Ditto both points above.

Looks like a leopard, and Sulcatas don't occur that far south.

Very cool pic though and thank you for posting it. I'd love to see more.

Yep, agreed. That's a leopard tortoise in its native range, not a sulcata introduced to South Africa. You can tell by the faint spots and the overall shape of the carapace. Nice to see a photo of a wild leopard tortoise on a preserve!
