I just noticed these indentations on the rear on my tortoise’s shell. It seems to be symmetrical on both sides of her shell. We live in the Phoenix area and she lives in the backyard with plenty of sun, grass and whatever leftover veggies we have. Any input is appreciated.
Thanks!
Your sulcata had a dry start as a baby and it pyramided, as most of them do. Things got better as it grew and gained size, so the new growth smoothed out.
This tropical species needs a heated night box to sleep in. Night temps shouldn't drop below 80.
