Ok.. thanks. He has been shedding his outer scutes and also his tail, neck, and legs look like a slight shed. I do have pretty hard water where I live. The only thing I put in his water when I change his tank is to take out the chlorine. I keep his water and basking temp where they should be. He basks often… off and on all day. He is a very active little guy and eats pretty good… although a bit picky at times. So, nothing to worry over ya think?Kinda hard to tell from the pic, but he could be shedding his scoots and pockets of air may be in.
Sounds to me everything is in order. Look closely to see if it looks like bubbles. Those scutes should come off. Turtles like scratching their shells on rough surfaces when they're shedding. Looks healthy to me, good job.Ok.. thanks. He has been shedding his outer scutes and also his tail, neck, and legs look like a slight shed. I do have pretty hard water where I live. Ok.. so I’ve looked closely as I do softly scrub his shell with warm water and a soft toothbrush every few days…no there is no bubbles.. it’s just flat white specks.. like it’s part of his shell…ever since I’ve had him he’s had tiny specks and there was a couple of greenish scutes… but that must’ve been algae because that is not there now since cleaning his shell. But I’ve noticed one of the white specks looks a bit larger. I had found another forum when I first got him and proudly posted his pic… but had a couple people come back saying his shell looked bad like shell rot… so.. I frantically bought betadine solution and treated him with that and dry docking for a few days… but in further researching shell rot I realized he just didn’t have all the symptoms… so I stopped doing that… the dry docking in a plastic tub really seemed to stress him out. But if you may think it necessary I will start that again..??Sounds to me everything is in order. Look closely to see if it looks like bubbles. Those scutes should come off. Just keep a close eye on it, It could be a possibility. Athletes foot does the trick, but you could try a product called turtle fix. It actually works well and is a little less stressful.Ok.. so I’ve looked closely as I do softly scrub his shell with warm water and a soft toothbrush every few days…no there is no bubbles.. it’s just flat white specks.. like it’s part of his shell…ever since I’ve had him he’s had tiny specks and there was a couple of greenish scutes… but that must’ve been algae because that is not there now since cleaning his shell.
