One of our outside cats brought her kittens out today. One of them is a bit different in coloring and I have no idea what you would call it. Any ideas?

It starts like this:

Then it goes into this shading:

Finally the rear:

With it's litter mate from above:

I would call it blue with chocolate tiger stripe markings, the litter mate chocolate with black or dark brown(can't tell which) tiger stripe markings. They are adorable. :)

:D I like the term "chocolate" on the tiger. We just call them all brown tigers. :D

Chocolate for brown, blue for some grays and charcoal for blacks. Makes them sound more special and different LOL. Probably get charged more for calling them those colors if they were purebred:D

:D We do call the grey ones blues. So many folks call the brown tigers grey tigers, so I always try to clarify.

Her colors called "Blue Torbie" :)

Some folks also call them "blue patch tabbies".

I think she's beautiful, in her own way.

I have no idea, but can I have it??? It's adorable, especially those spots under the belly. Looks almost like how some of those exotic varieties started.

We just adopted a buff tabby that has significant spotting on his sides rather than stripes. He's very pretty and a total menace!

You must have a thing that all cats need to be spayed?

Ahh congrats on the new adoption! We have a few with the spots and I think those markings are some of the prettiest ones.

Sorry if asking about spaying offends anyone.. But when you see what I see, its Extreamley offensive to me when cats are Not spayed and allowed to breed. if everyone worked in the 'backroom' of a shelter, Im sure things would change. But that is a different discussion.....
