Wanted: Ride to Mojave Desert for wayward tortoise

Anybody see this news article? There is a found DT in Washington that needs a ride to its adoptive home in So Cal.

Tom Silverfield of the NW Herpetological Soc. is taking the tortoise to my sister, Maggie, in Corvallis, OR. Maggie has an appt. for oral surgery here in Fresno, CA on Oct. 1, and is bringing the tortoise here. I don't know as yet what arrangements have been made to get the tortoise from here to Mojave, but you all can rest assured that this tortoise is going to be taken care of.

This Friday I'm going to Ventura to visit my daughter and grandkids, but I see the ride isn't needed until Oct 1 is that still the target date?

I talked to my sister this a.m. and she told me that the people in Mojave have made their own arrangements, and Tom, my sister and I are not in the loop anymore.
