I was building a new enclosure for my tortoises and I used this stain on the outside of the wood, and a little on the inside of the enclosure.

What are your thoughts regarding the safety of this stain in the home and inside the enclosure, AND about how long would you let the wood sit before actually using it?

Just not sure if picked a bad type of stain that could harm the tortoise.

It will be fine. Just make sure it airs out enough first. The outside stained area won't have much impact.

You think it will be fine even though I used some inside the actual enclosure?

Anyone else have any thoughts or used this stuff before?

It's just regular polyurethane infused with stain pigment. Even though the can says "one coat" a sealer and two full coats should be applied to be as durable as it should. Okay for tortoises enclosures but PolyShades is crap for furniture!
