Turtle id

This little guy was cruising thru my yard this morning. Any idea what he is? I didn't want to pick him up, and stress him out. Located in Tennessee.

Wow, that was quick. I'd never seen a turtle with that kind of coloring in the wild. I just moved here from Indiana, and all our turtles up there are just green or brown.

Yup eastern box turtles, I know they range up in IL a little I don't think they range up in IN so you probably never seen one. Cool species tho

I've actually seen about 3 or four since I posted this, all headed the same direction by my house. I helped one across the road.

Yep we have box turtles here in Texas that cross the road come in the yard pretty cool .
