Tortoise's new upstairs!!

I spent ages today measuring out and cutting up wood to create a little upstairs with a slope up for my tort. The idea was that it would be dark underneath and she could hide there, well I'm finally finished!!!

What are your thoughts?

Looks like she likes it!!!! I'd say that's a win!
My tort like a soft, dirt-like substrate that she can bury herself or nestle down into. Have you considered trying some dirt or coco coir?

Thanks guys! I have tried to buy coco coir but it was impossible to find. I visited 3 garden centres and a petshop and they looked at me like I was speaking another language. The best I could find is what is in there now, coco husk, she doesn't mind it too much she likes to burrow into it.

UPDATE: She has been up and down it for the first time! She seems to like it. She slipped a little but she's happy enough, gives her a challenge

Carolinapetsupply and petco sell it..dry or just add water in a bucket to expand the brick...awesome idea...your tort is loving it!!!

Thankyou! She still loves it, eats sleeps and watches from above still. She only usually comes down to bask. Funny.

Nope, just kept this. I tried a tiny bit of soil from the garden for her to dig in but she hated it so I took it away.

Ours just started digging herself into the soil.....it took her 3 months...we rescued her in september..tty again and give her a lil more time...
