I just got this tortoise from a friend. They have no idea what is it. I think I might have a good idea. However, like always, I love to get other opinions! :)

And like always, Danny's opinion is most appreciated! :p

Looks like those last pictures that Danny posted. Was it Egyptian?

now with all this chatter... would anyone be surprised if this hatchling can from a group of Russian and Greek tortoises living together? It is true, no one knows who laid the egg or when it got laid, and my friend just has a backyard full of just Russians and Greeks.

Is it remotely possible to have a hybrid? Or is it 100% Russian? That was my first guess when I first saw it.

Btw the egg looked like a jellybean, very long, not round at all.

Looks like 100% Russian to me. Never heard of Greek-Russian hybrid before and I don't know if that's even possible?

Awww it looks like some of Nelson's "siblings" that were lighter/more brown than him.
I thought Russian too, just for the record ;) So cute!
