Tortoise Food

Hi there! Im new to the forum, and I'm a new tortoise owner too! I have a russian named Gwynivere, and everything is going great so far. She's settled and Ive got her in a 4' by 2' wooden enclosure with coconut coil substrate and she seems pretty happy. I can hear her munching on her lettuce right now but anyway, Ive gotten her some store bought food (zoomed mediterranean tortoise food) as well as her fresh food, but she completely doesnt care for the stuff. I even put some on a piece of turnip greens and she ate around it, which was kind of funny. But I was just wondering if this is bad, and if she'll be missing out on vital nutrition or something, or if she can just eat the fresh stuff. Let me know!

Greens is just fine. You can sprinkle them with a LITTLE BIT of calcium and vitamin powder occasionally.

i agree with emysemys ... WELCOME !! my RT's love the spring mix with collard greens , kale , mustards , i switch it up from one of the greens but i always use the spring mix for a base ... do you have any pictures to share we all love pictures ...

Welcome. I keep piles of Orchard Hay in my RT enclosure. They love to bury themselves in it. That is a nice looking Tort' you have there.
