Hey!

My brother has recently bought his first tortiose; a 2 year old Hermann's tortoise, and is looking for feeback on his enclosure. We have a UVB light and reflector above the mesh at the top of the enclosure, and a 100W ceramic bulb for heat. Although we plan to get a radar thermometer, the heat is currently measured at around 26C in the whole enclosure. The substrate is what we got from the pet store (a mix of bark with some hay), although we plan to switch to a mix of coco coir and sand. Is there any other additions we could make to make it more comfortable for his tortoise? Thanks :)

Make sure to provide a wet hide for the tortoise. Young tortoises, especially Hermann's are extremely susceptible to dehydration. Providing a humid area for the tortoise to hide in can help prevent dehydration and other hydration related issues such as pyramiding.
