I second that, if given the chance to dissect an already deceased turtle I would love to do it, see internal scutes and everything, but wild or domestic my heart beats for turtles/tortoises, I love em, I couldnt take ones life for sake of education, no.. I dont feel that way for cats or rats or even a dog but do for chelonians, all species

I agree, I love Turtles to much considering these Turtles were swimming in a cramped Tank hours before getting gassed. =(... And this isn't for a Turtle study or a benefit for the species it's just to dissect an animal to see it's parts. I wouldn't be so Ticked if it was for a better understanding for the species but it's not. I should admit I do agree dissecting has a lot of benefits for the species.
