It looks like a tropical species....if so, then I would only use in an area of the world that does not ever freeze in temp....if you are in an area that does freeze--then you will want to plant hardy hibiscus species--it will die off during the freezing winter times, but will come back each year...
My Redfoot can't get enough of those things, and comes running for hibiscus. When the flowers close and don't reopen in the morning, I just pull them off since they're done, but the tort will gobble up the closed flowers. I pull off an open flower every once in a while to show off to visitors
