Hello!
I have a few months old leopard tortoise that was super active and used to climb even its hiding tree tank.. Lately I've noticed that it's not as active as before.. Stopped climbing.. Sleeps alot.. And have teary eyes.. Nothing has changed in the enclosure nor the food.. For some reason it never eats anything that's not fresh.. Spoiled I guess.. I'm really concerned about it, do you think it's sick? Or just board? I can't take it outside since I live in Milwaukee and it's freezing nowadays.

Post a pic of the enclosure. And what are the 4 temps . Most of the time when a tort stops eating it's the temps .

And teary eyes could be respiratory infection which is related to temps being too low. Babies should be kept warm. Enclosure should NEVER get less than 80. Not even in the corner. I would up that to 85 now until all symptoms go away. Check out closed chamber section for babies. Do you soak him daily? I would twice a day for a while. To do this ...Place him in tub with half inch of warm water(90-100 degrees f) and place tub in warm location for 30 min(rewarm water as needed). Water should come up to the seem of his top and bottom shell so he is essentially in a wading pool. Good luck

I'm not sure about leopards, but the species I keep gets teary eyes if the humidity gets too low. What relative humidity (range) is your enclosure?

I haven't heard of that on leopards but babies should have higher humidity to keep their shell growing smooth. I just wasn't going mention that since if it is RI you can make it worse by raising humidity if you don't also adjust temps up accordingly.

Be sure you are measuring temps at tort level. Also what are you using to measure those temps? The puck disc things the pet stores sell are not reliable enough usually.

Am sorry about that.

I think there isn't enough humidity, too.

Pics of your tort and his enclosure?

In December you had this same issue with a baby Redfoot, are you housing the leopard the same way you did the Redfoot?
