Sulcata and humid tank?

My reptile store said to keep my tortoise's cage dry and not humid. We take him out of his cage and put him in a bucket of water 1-2 times a week.
Is this safe? I've been hearing that your suppose to keep water in your Sulcata's habitat. Thanks for your response! I could really use it.

Please don't follow the pet store advice. That is the OLD outdated info and it leads to the deaths of hundreds or thousands of baby sulcatas every year.

Follow Tom's advice and you will have a healthy tortoise for the rest of your life . Check out Dozer he is cared for as per Tom's advice . This is one year of growth .

Sulcatas NEED humidity! Keep water in the enclosure at all times. Soak every day.
