Substrate and mold

Best type of substrate for a cherry head hatchling? I've been using cypress mulch for two weeks now since I got her. And I just noticed bits of mold on the surface. Is this common? And is it dangerous?

I use cypress mulch ... I stir it up every week and haven't been troubled by mold.

I wonder if the difference stems from there being standing water in your tank ... Mine is damp but not soaked.

Mold grows on rotting stuff. . . bits of food, poop, etc. It's probably not harmful, but I wouldn't want it to be moldy in my enclosures. Spot clean daily, and stir it up like Jamie does.

May want to read ( again ? ) the Redfoot Caresheet above - sounds like you are trying to keep the humidity high from the bottom up ?
