our baby redfoot still seems to be feeling under the weather, we got a brand new UVB light and that has his shell problem fixed. He is still very lethargic and hasn't pooped but is eating. his eyes seem cloudy and he doesn't want to open them until i put him in a warm bath and then he perks up for a little bit. Any ideas???

So sorry he's sick. I would get him to a good Reptile Vet as soon as possible.

Hello Amandaconda,

how old is your redfoot baby? What do you feed ? How long do you soak him in warm water ?
It may be too cold for your tortoise ? Redfoots need high temperature at day and night and a high humidity too. When it is to cold, tortoises can not digest. They are lethargic.
Please write a little bit more about your redfoot baby.

Clyde is Aprox. 6 months old and has a basking spot of 95 degrees F and the rest of his cage we have at 70. Currently we soak him around 15 minutes in warm water everyday, the humidity is usually somewhere between 60-80%. we try to get him to exercise but he just doesn't want to get up.

Hi Amanda: Go back to the care sheet and re-read it, then double check your husbandry, making any necessary changes.

While 95 would be considered uncomfortably hot for a Redfoot. 70 is also too cool. (For extended periods of time)
But it's likely that there is an area in the center where it is between the two? Maybe lower 80s. That is more like what you want.
If he is ill and you just now placed a UVB bulb up, don't expect him to rebound over night.
Have you been able to take any photographs of the enclosure? That would still be very helpful.
