Hi I live in New York and very interested in a couple leopard tortoises in southern CA. Does anyone know of a really good thread with directions on how to ship or would be willing to do it for him/her?
Sincerely,
Debbie

You can find extensive info at the ShipYourReptiles Get Help section. There are packaging and temperature guidelines at our site that will lay everything out for you. You can also contact our customer service staff at [email protected] and 303-730-2125, they are available Monday through Friday 7am to 6pm MST.

We also have visual photo guidelines at the ShipYourReptiles Facebook page, this particular one from Tortoise Supply. (follow the link!)

Very simply, the first step is getting the proper packaging. That includes an insulated box with at least 3/4" insulation, a heat pack if temperatures require it, and a container or bag, as appropriate for your particular tortoise.

You can book your shipment at our site, at a discounted rate, you can add Live Arrival Insurance if you want, then print your label and apply it to your package. We can arrange for a FedEx driver to pickup your package from your home or office, or you can drop your package at the FedEx facility (not a FedEx Office/Kinko's type location, but the actual facility).

You can only ship Monday through Thursday, and only Priority Overnight for live reptiles. Feel free to contact our staff with questions, or to walk you through the process. Your first shipment may seem daunting, but it's actually a pretty straight forward and simple process.
