Hi Everyone, how important is it to maintain a feeding schedule? I work shift work and find it almost impossible to stick to a regular feeding schedule. I feed and soak daily but between my work/sleep schedules and finding a time when he’s actually on the surface and not burried is proving very difficult. Should I dig him up ? Also, hes a 10 week hatching and i think hes is starting to associate me with negativity as immediately after in put him back he hides for hours.

They do not need a routine, however, since they are grazing animals, food should be available all day.

There are many reasons why they might hide a lot. What are your four temps? What type of heating and lighting are you using? As we move into fall and the days get ever shorter, the urge to hibernate gets stronger. Additional heating and lighting might be needed to keep him up.

An enclosure pic might give us more insight.
