You could be right there. That's the plant I was thinking of - just got the wrong name.

I just looked up Japonica which is actually a type of Camellia. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camellia_japonica

Rosemary is right with pomegranate. Punica granatum; this looks like one of the nana forms.
The fruit is edible, of course. Foliage not so palatable. Not dangerous tho'.

The fruit may be edible for humans, but RTs cannot digest sugars easily so the fruit should not be fed to your RT.
