Are all types of roses safe for sulcatas to eat? Even the leaves? Like if I see a plant with "rose" in the name is it safe to use???

all roses are safe, but just because it says rose,it may not mean it is a rose plant. and they will eat the leaves even though to me they look sharp to eat.

One thing to watch out for is the systemic pesticides that are now in use. They can last a year or more in the tissues and leaves of a new plant from a nursery. I only feed new growth from a rose plant that has been in MY ground for over a year.

And yes, all varieties and color variations are okay to eat.

Due to the ever changing nature of common names, I would not assume that anything with "rose" in the name is safe.

That's why I want to get one now to get things started. She doesn't eat a lot now (well not as much as she will eat later on, lol) so now seems like a good time to start I guess.

I've read that the sap of desert rose plants is poisonous.
