Hello, is my russian tortoise
pyramiding? He is 1.5 years old, average humidity is 35-40%, feed him daily with a small amount of food.
Second question, is it time to trim his beak?

Could you send photos from underneath his chin/beak? At that age I would go for 65- 70 % humidity to prevent pyramiding, but he doesn't seem badly pyramided yet.

There is new growth on the scutes o do not see major pyramiding. Re beak I suggest proving food in a terracotta plant based this acts as a nail file. If you need to get attended make contact with a local reptile shop to see if they can trim claws and beak. Ensure calcium is added to food for strong shell, bone, beak and claw growth.
Ensure you soak it in warm shallow water in a high sided container for around 30 mins this helps hydration. Tortoise are grazers so ensure fresh water and adequate fresh food in provide AM and PM remove food and replenish fresh water for overnight.

Please read this care sheet to check set up and adjust as required....

I see no major pyramiding but there is slight pyramiding or it could be due to the new growth lines coming in and the beak is fine. I would feed on a flat rock or clay saucer to keep the beak as is. Keep humidity up higher, what you are doing, the 35-40% is good for adults but younger ones need it higher.

Hello and welcome.

No pyramiding, and the beak looks fine.

Read that thread that Sarah left for you. Questions are welcome.

Beak looks fine. If you feed him chopped greens, try whole leaves. Also, a cuttlefish bone (white oval things used to supplement calcium for birds) will help with beak conditioning - just get some and put in the enclosure.
