Yes, but everything in moderation. Too much might cause a laxative effect, but a few chunks of pumpkin, some seeds, the innards, etc, all good.

From the Tortoise Table
  • Common Name: Pumpkin
  • Latin Name: Curcurbita pepo
  • Family Name: Cucurbitaceae
The flowers and leaves of the Pumpkin plant can be fed sparingly, but we don't recommend feeding the fruit unless your tortoise is a fruit-eating species.

Although there is a theory that the flesh of the pumpkin has worming properties, and some tortoise keepers feed Pumpkin once a year when it is in season, we can find no scientific evidence to support this theory.

The seeds of the Pumpkin contain curcurbitin, which does have some worming properties, but we would not recommend feeding the seeds, as they are too high in protein. If your tortoise needs worming it is far better to obtain approved medication from your vet.

For little ones though grind it up so they don't choke on a seed. All of a pumpkin can be fed.

I just fed pumpkin to all of mine today. I grate it on a cheese grater for smaller tortoises and I mix it with grass, weeds, and leaves. For larger tortoises I just leave large chunks on their trays. For the big sulcatas I just leave a whole pumpkin in their enclosure.

A little bit once or twice a week seasonally is fine for them.

I grew about 10 medium pumpkins this year so im feeding hugo one a week or so once the grass slows down. I chop It in quarters and he eats it all along with everything else in his pen. Winter grass in coming in nicely!
