possible fruit or veggie?

This was growing with our cucumbers, does any one know if its a fruit or a variety of cucumber?

either a squash or a gourd. Never seen it before.

Okay we cut it open and it smells like a cucumber but it doesn't taste like one.

It doesn't really have a taste, we are thing lemon cucumber now after looking at photo's online...

Whatever it is, it is technically a fruit as far as diet is concerned.

Ignore what the grocery stores tell you- fruits are the parts of the plants made from the flowers and/or ovaries and contain seeds, even if it is only one seed. This is definitely a fruit- as are squash, cucumbers, peppers, pumpkins, zuchinni, tomatoes, beans, peas, peanuts, grains, nuts, corn, eggplant, and berries. (Some reliable sources do not count things like grains, corn, nuts, etc. as true fruits, instead calling them 'seeds').

Thank you for that, A fruit it is... I will just chop it up and make myself a nice cucumber salad...

Yes it 100% a lemon cumcumber, I think we will get a lot from or patch of vines here in a few weeks when it cools down.
