Normal, but should be a little thinner than that. Maybe soak your baby more often (daily is good), or if you're already soaking daily, leave him in the water longer. If you use a smaller soaking bowl with tall sides, you can put the bowl back into the habitat NEXT TO the light (not directly under it) so it stays warm longer.

I have no doubt this was said as a joke, but as some folks believe every thing they read, DO NOT PUT ANYTHING YOUR TORTOISE IS ON, IN, OR ESPECIALLY DO NOT PLACE THEIR BODY FLUIDS IN YOUR MOUTHS.

Yes, please excuse Jacqui's senior moment.



Urates are typically dependent on diet and hydration but also on individual animals as well (initial care, etc) One of my sulcatas seemingly always has urates compared to my others.

Bob empties his water dish daily and his urates are thick and gritty, and sometimes not there at all. I think you need to decide what is normal for your tort, every animal is different...
