It has been *cough* 6 weeks since my last foster tortoise moved in with his permanent home (a good friend here in town)... I was going to wait a while before taking in another. However, my reptile rescue friend has asked me if I could take on a Greek tortoise that a woman with a chronic illness bought at a garage sale, just to rescue it from the people selling it. She knew she couldn't care for it, so then asked the rescue organization to take it from her. So sweet of her, I think.
The tortoise has worms pretty badly, and so far I have only seen blurry pics, so am not sure of the state of its shell, beak, etc, or what subspecies it is (am pretty sure it's a Greek though). I'll be asking for help, for sure.

This won't be a permanent placement, but rather I will nurse this little one back to health, treat it for worms, and make sure it is eating, and then he will join the reptile rescue's educational reptile collection in the summer.

I'll post pics and more info on Tuesday! :)
