I adopted a new box turtle on Friday and he has an overgrown beak. I want to let him acclimate to his new home prior to taking care of it. He's able to eat and is a good weight, so I don't feel like it's an emergency situation. Will I need to trim it, or will eating on a rough surface take care of it?
