Hello,

The FretTortyTorts are just over 1 year old now.
Apollo and Dino are just over 3 pounds. Tank is just over 2 pounds.

We live in Florida. Most days are pretty humid. When it's over 70 degrees, they come outside for the day (7am to sunset-ish). As we approach summer, there will be a lot of sun and longer days outside. At this age, how long is too long to be outside? They have a humid hide in their outdoor spaces.

Their night homes are large plastic tubs inside a small green house, just FYI. A picture of Tank because he is so cute.

At that size and in your climate, they can just stay outside full time now. Build an insulated night box with thermostat controlled heat for cool nights. Make sure they are in every night and shut the door. This will keep them safe from raccoons and other nocturnal pests. Open the door every morning and they can come out when they want. Do this and your life will be a lot easier. :)

Have you started introducing grass hay yet? Pretty soon...

Thank you so much! Yes, we started incorporating orchard hay into their diets. We get it wet and mix it in with their other foods. We tried timothy hay but it was too tough. Thankfully we have plenty of weeds and fresh grasses in out own yard.

And thank you for all your input in this forum-- it's helped us to raise some healthy torts!
