I've offered my lil Dino cactus many times, he doesn't seem to even touch it. Why is this? Does he just not like it? Or did I cut it wrong? I cut it into a strip then cut that into little pieces. Is more natural to give him the whole strip? He's about 3 months old if that helps. Thanks guys!

I say keep trying once a week or so. When torts are babies, they can get picky. But it is good to introduce new foods to them when they are young [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH] and yes, keep cutting the cactus up into small pieces so your baby doesn't choke. One day your baby is going to eat it while you're not looking [FACE WITH STUCK-OUT TONGUE AND WINKING EYE]

For about the first 2 months of trying to feed my sulcatas mazuri, they wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. Now it is crack to them and they can't eat it fast enough.

I've have cactus growing in my red foots enclosure. They go up to it when they want and bite off chunks. That leave it alone for weeks, then take a big bite out.

Its most likely because the breeder never introduced it to your baby when it was very small, and so your tortoise doesn't recognize it as food. You will have to introduce it gradually. Finely mince a very small amount and mix it in thoroughly with some of your tortoises other favorite chopped up greens. Having the taste and texture of the cactus slime all mixed in will get him used to it slowly, but surely. Over time, maybe weeks or months, gradually up the ratio. It will take time, but the end result is worth it in my opinion.
