Hello! I am a Nana to seven grandchildren (not tortoises). The Grandkids range in age from 5 years old to 18 years old. I was "elected" to get a tortoises because my husband and I live on 3/4 of an acre in the High Deserts of Southern California and we have free time to build a nice home for our tortoise, "Heidi". I purchased Heidi at a pet store in our city and was told she is a 4 year old African Sulcata. She is very friendly and now we are trying to set down a routine. I will try and attach a picture of Heidi, but I am not too good with the working of computers yet.

Heidi is 7 /2 inches long from head to tail and 5 inches across the top of her shell. She weighs approximately 3 lbs. 2 oz.

Looking forward to learning more about Heidi!

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like Heidi is what my wife was wanting. She wanted my Cooper to stay small for a longer period of time. He is 16 months old and is 9.6lbs and about 10 or 11 inch's from head to tail, but that does not include the head and tail, lol. Good luck with your new girl! :)

not too sure what the map is.. might want to edit that part of your post..
Heidi looks good. Get her outside as much as possible, and good food and she
should grow.

I knew better, as a succulent I think you just need to plant leaves; but I will check into it. Thanks
