Hi,
New Sulcata parent here in SE Texas. My daughter named him Franklin after her favorite TV tortoise. :D

I've had a million questions, but everything so far has been answered from searching these forums. Especially Tom's posts, which are a wealth of great advice and information, so thanks Tom!!

I do want to ID some weeds in our background before I completely let Franklin run wild in his outdoor enclosure.

Anyways, just saying Hi and tanks for providing such an awesome forum!

Attached is a pic of Franklin.

WELCOME. I am a fan of Tom's too, has helped me a lot with my leopard. Check out thetortoisetable.org for edible plant identification.

Welcome! In your area the spotted spurge is a weed to keep out of your enclosure. Our sulcata was in bad shape for 2 days after eating a little patch of it. White sap oozes when the plant stems break.
