Hi all. I am busy reading the forums, but maybe someone can help me with a "shortcut".
I am adopting a 60 lb sulcata from a friend. I live in Phoenix Arizona. She has several large tortoises and has let them dig out a den under her house to stay warm in winter. Is this sufficient in Phoenix?
During the rest of the year we plan to have several areas available around our large back yard (all grass). We have an old shed and we are going to raise the floor a bit for drainage and cut off the bottom of the door. We also have a covered trellis area that used to have a bench but doesn't any more, and he will be free to dig there or anywhere else if he doesn't like the shed. We might make a small misted area not by the shed as well. I have no worries about summer.
Don't worry, I will continue to read. Not looking for easy answers, I just haven't been able to find much Phoenix-specific info. Thanks in advance!
Kelly
