I hope my Hawaiian words are correct. Saying hello, welcome, and congratulations.

Hi Sam:

Welcome to the Tortoise Forum!!

We have several members who live in Hawaii.

The Hermanns tortoises are very pretty. And the hatchlings especially so.

Mahalo! ʻAe ua maikaʻi kō mau ʻōlelo welina mai i aʻu. No Oʻahu mai au.
Thanks! Yes, your words of welcome were good! Iʻm from Oʻahu.

Iʻll post pics of my new Hermann's, named Popohe, which in Hawaiian means "round, shapely"

Thanks all! If there are Hawaiʻi tortoise owners who can recommend which of the hundreds of common weeds and grasses that grow here in Hawaiʻi they've found are good for Hermann's, Iʻd appreciate it. S far it's bee trial and error. For example, although Hibiscus flowers are often mentioned, my little hatchling is not the least bit interested in them at the moment. Do I need to chop them up or something?
mahalo,
Sam

Hello and welcome. Have you tried feeding the leaves of the hibiscus? Sorry don't know what weeds you have over there. Dandelion, sow thistle, mallow, broadleaf plantain? Just throwing a few out there to see if they look familiar to you.
