My babies get fed everyday. It is usually an amount intended for a larger number of hatchlings so someone else can help you with that. But I will add that the quality of food that is going in is far more improtant than the amount or frequency. A baby fed on lower quality food will want to constantly eat in order to try to meet all of its nutritional needs. That is the equivalent of feeding a human fast food vs. healthy food, and the result is also the same. An unhealthy tortoise with poor eating habits. A portion as large as its shell everyday, is a good baseline and is easily adjusted as he tort grows. Redfoots do well with a very wide variety of foods. So try to continue to add more and more variety to its diet. I only use an MVB(Mercury Vapor Bulb) for all of my tortoises. Right now I like the ZooMed Powersun 100w. It provides Illumination, UVA, UVB and heat.So no other bulb is necessary
