Hi.
I need a name for my marginated hatchling.
She/he is coming in a couple of weeks.
I do not have any specific desires that I want the name to be.
Thanks.

My guys had names before I got them, but as soon as I saw them they just didn't look like their names (Giacomo and Esmeralda). I renamed them Darwin Audra and Merlin Wallace (aka Wally).

Hahaha :D I laughed hard at that! Could happen so easily :D:D
Not kidding, Kitty was a serious consideration when I named Cheerio (Miss Sulcata) o_O and I can totally see that happening with a future pet :p

Plays on words...
A friend had a snake and named it "feather" It fit the snake as it was a boa
I had a carved stone turtle I named "dove" for turtle dove

RV has her name because she's like a home on wheels ~ carries her home where ever she goes.

Mostly I just get a feel for the animal I have, when I look into it's eyes.
My cat Dutch has the name because he reminded me of the "good old boy" factory worker type, just off to the bar after a hard days work.
Another cat started off as Thomas. That developed into Thomas Lopez de Alverez y Garcia Davis
Don't ask me where THAT came from. I don't know.

To boil it down to a point, I guess I name my animals from the suggestion THEY give me, with their attitude, aura...
(favorite character from a book...) what ever.
Having said that, I had a (pregnant) coworker many years ago who was reading "Gone with the Wind". She was very enamored with the main character Scarlet and wanted to name her girl-child-to-be with that name. She was recent immigrant without good understanding of the nuances of english, and we had to explain why the name wouldn't go with her married name of Hussy. True story.

What ever you decide upon, I know it will be right.
