Hi,
I have a 10 year old Russian tortoise and he has been sleeping for the past month. For the past 7 years that I have had him, he has not slept this much, at most for two weeks. He is very healthy and I woke him up two weeks ago just so he could drink and eat which he did as normal, but he then returned back to sleeping. The temperature in my house is around 70F, and I am concerned that its way too hot. Should I wake him up, and if so, any suggestions on how to keep him up?
Thanks, Lucy

Well, a brumating tortoise should not have any food in his digestive tract, so I'm of the school that you should wake him up, soak him daily and don't allow him to burrow and be inactive. Maybe he's not warm enough. You say the temp in your house is around 70F, but does he have a heat/light to make his enclosure warmer?
