It is okay. If the diet is good and varied, you really don't "need" it, but once a week is cheap insurance against any vitamin deficiencies.

For a sulcata?
For any tortoise. I feed so many different items that I seldom bother with supplements any more. They just don't need it in my case. I feed almost no grocery store produce. I introduce some of those items to babies because I anticipate that their new owners might offer spring mis or something similar, so I want the babies to know what it is, but I mostly feed weeds, grass, leaves, grass hay, flowers and opuntia pads to all my tortoises. Well... no hay for the babies, but everything else.

I used calcium for a little while but honestly I don't give any supplements to my tort now. I just give him a varied diet, I feel that's enough. Hes growing and healthy as far as I can tell.
