I've been working this guys beak down since we rescued him, but today I finally got the nerve to trim it! Looks so much better...

I'm not done but, it's sooooo much better.

It wasn't easy. He didn't fight too much but I was too scared to hurt him.

End result = he pooped and peed all over my towel I had him wrapped in.

OMG what did you do. That's not the beak Sorry, I just am in a goofy mood right now. Had to do it. It does look really good. You did do a good job. Did you use finger nail clippers like Yvonne mentioned? You may be able to just soak and file now like another member mentioned. I can't remember who though

What a difference! Great job! I think I'd leave it to her to finish it off by placing her foods on stone or terra cotta. I also didn't cut up the harder foods so that it was more difficult for my tortoise to eat but at the same time helped even out his beak. It took years, but I'm amazed at how perfect that beak is now.

I used two different nail clippers. Large and small. Some parts of the beak were thicker than others, ect.

I just love how different he looks now. Such a sweet face.

Manny looks so much happier with his trim. Studying his face a little longer he looks like "Mater" from Cars. LOL, sorry I watch alot of kid shows an Mater is my Grandson's favorite character so we see him ALOT.
