I know our tortoise, Davey, is really to small to tell if it's a male or female but I was just wondering what everybody thought it is. We have been calling it a boy:) He is about 4 in long.
Thanks:)

It is showing female characteristics so far (short tail, about 90 degree angle opening in the anal scutes, tips of anal scutes come close to the marginals, belly is flat or slightly outcurved), but this can change over the next couple inches of growth.

It is generally best to consider most pet names to be gender neutral.

Yep looking female. But still not 100%. Typically what I do is if I think it's a male and turns female(which happens a lot) I choose names that can be turned to female. Like George turned to a girl and I named her georgette. It works. Kinda funny too I think.
