Looking to get my first pet Tortoise

Just wondering which would be better a box or a Russian,I live in the mountains of TN,and also wondering if you all would share some habitats for your tortoises please and thank you!

Hello and Welcome. A Russian needs water to drink and to soak himself if he wants, but a clay saucer will do. A box turtle would do better with a small pond type water area. Box turtles need some bugs added to their diets, Russians don't. If it were me, I would do a Russian.

I was leaning towards the Russian but my friend has a box and it seems like it's harder to take care of than the Russian
