I just got this cat grass for my baby tortoise. He is a sulcata. I got it for seven dollars at pet Co. and I read on the form that it was OK for my tortoise. So that's an option if anyone wants to get it for their tortoise.

If you want it to last, I would cut the grass down to a couple of inches, fed the grass to your tortoise, and keep watering it so that he'll have more later. Don't let him tear the plant apart, cause that's exactly what he'll do.

I've been cutting it with scissors and putting a small amount on his food

I buy cat grass, but wouldn't for seven dollars (that's much higher than I've ever seen it sold for). They have it in my grocery store for a couple dollars, and the seeds in the pet store (or amazon) for much, much cheaper. It's easy to grow your own.
