Hi all,

This is something I have been experimenting for a while now...the location to put the food dish.

I have tried:

near/under the hot spot
near the cool end
near the middle temp range.

Still cant figure out which one would be best. Do you guys have any experience/knowledge of where would be the best location?

It is for an indoor enclosure, currently measuring 4' by 2' and housing a young indian star. The hot spot is about 120F, with cool end is about 75-ish F.

Thanks

I don't know about Star tortoises, but I actually keep a couple food dishes and spread the food throughout the tortoises enclosure, moving it from day to day so that the tortoise is looking for food.

I feed on my tort's slate rock which is under the basking light. This has worked for me but there is no one way to feed. So let us know what works for you:)
